The final conference of the EU-funded BORIS2 project, hosted by EUCENTRE, was held on December 11 in Pavia, Italy. Partners and stakeholders from across Europe came together to discuss the project’s outcomes, including a new methodology and platform designed to strengthen cross-border disaster preparedness for floods and earthquakes. The project team showcased how these tools were tested in three pilot regions and demonstrated the added value of a harmonised, science-based approach to multi-hazard risk assessment.
Assoc. Prof. Rıza Secer Orkun Keskin and Assoc. Prof. Aslı Numanoğlu Genç, accompanied with Ali Sercan Peker (Directorate of Flood Control, General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works) and Teoman Selçuk Köksal (Earhquake Engineering Working Group, Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency) attended the conference. Assoc. Prof. Rıza Secer Orkun Keskin, together with Daria Ottonelli from Genova University, presented Gaps & Challenges of the project.
