European Union Project Success of TED University Civil Engineering Faculty Members on Disaster Planning and Management

The project titled "Cross Border RISk assessment for increased prevention and preparedness in Europe: way forward (BORIS 2)" has been funded by the European Commission under the call of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM). The project has a budget of €1 million and will run for 24 months. The project stakeholders are from five countries: Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Turkey, and Montenegro. There are 11 organizations involved in the project, TED University being the only partner from Turkey. The project team is led by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Kökpınar and consists of all faculty members in the Civil Engineering Department. The project aims to develop a shared methodology for assessing cross-border risk from natural hazards. This will help to improve prevention and preparedness for disasters in Europe.
